Introduction to the Standards for Texas Assisted Living Managers

This course is designed to meet the requirements of the Texas Department of Aging and Disabiliity which is the licensing agency for Assisted Living Facilities in the state of Texas. The Licensing Standards require that all managers employed after August 1, 2000 must complete a 24-hour educational course on the management of Assisted Living Facilities. Eight hours on the Assisted Living Standards must be completed before or during the manager’s first three months of employment. This Texas online education course will fulfill the requirement of the first eight hours on the standards of assisted living.

Not only will this course fulfill the above requirement, but it will also be a refresher course on the standards for experienced managers. This course will provide an opportunity to learn the full scope of assisted living requirements for nurses, social workers, licensed nursing facility administrators and other health care professionals. This education will assist all of these professionals who work in the Texas assisted living arena either directly in a facility or indirectly through home health care and other resource agencies.
